MARKETING

Principal Responsibilities:

Promote and raise the visibility of the Rotary Club of Brisbane in the Central Business District and targeted segments. Prepare advertising, promotional materials, publicity releases and public relations articles for periodic media release. Identify community projects for the Club that will really make a difference.

  • Increase Membership: We will: Increase Rotary Club of Brisbane membership by improving the frequency and quality of communications to our major stakeholders and business networks.
     

  • Promotions: We will: Develop a coordinated promotional program, which may include targeted advertising, promotions, public relations and other media, to raise the Rotary Club of Brisbane profile, in the CBD and with key decision-makers in government, the public sector and commerce.
     

  • Community Perceptions: We will: Identify community attitudes and perceptions of the Rotary Club of Brisbane in the CBD and amongst recipients of Club grants, awards, donations, to establish specific needs and how they may be met more effectively. These needs will be the catalyst for enhancing/building the Rotary Club of Brisbane image in the CBD and identifying meaningful community projects for adoption.
     

  • Member Awareness: We will: Create awareness within the Rotary Club of Brisbane of the importance of all members to recognise that they have a marketing responsibility as ambassadors of the Club. Members will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for introducing prospective new members to the Club.

OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION

Principal Responsibilities:

Provide the fabric and infrastructure for the good order and management of Club activities and projects, including luncheon meetings, venues, changeover meetings and other regular programmes. The Operations/Admin Directorate is responsible for the effectiveness of meetings, organisation of speakers, Club procedures protocol and member communications, eg weekly bulletin, Members' booklet etc.

  • Club Projects and Tasks: We will: Ensure that regular Club projects and tasks are completed/achieved; members are appointed and outcomes agreed for each project and task, and results are monitored and reported to Board and members.
     

  • Quality of Luncheon Meetings: We will: Ensure Rotary Club of Brisbane meetings are of a consistently high quality, reflected in the appropriateness of the venue, chairmanship, speakers, facilities, timeliness and the opportunity for fun and fellowship. Maintain good quality of meal offerings and prompt service/delivery of meals.
     

  • RCOB Procedures’ Manual: We will: Ensure that the procedures for all Club systems are documented and flow-charted and that an Rotary Club of Brisbane Procedures Manual is established to enable a consistent quality of Operations/Admin service performance.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Principal Responsibilities:

Recruit, select, induct, train, develop and retain Rotary Club of Brisbane members representative of business government, sciences, professions and ethnic groups, in the central Business District community. Ensure the effective mentoring of new members, as well as assisting Rotary Club of Brisbane members in need. HR has responsibility for membership classifications and allocation of new members to regional groups and functional areas. Develop, monitor and support the International Service and Vocational Service programmes of the Club.

  • New Member Induction and Mentoring: We will: Implement an induction program that ensures new members are effectively integrated into Rotary and life within Rotary Club of Brisbane, through participation in Club administration/projects/activities and an active involvement as a member of a Regional Group.
     
  • Member Database: We will: Upgrade database membership to include personal profiles of all Rotary Club of Brisbane members, including classifications, Rotary history, qualifications, experience, skills and abilities, so that members skills are matched with portfolio responsibilities, jobs and projects.
     
  • Member Communications: We will: upgrade the level of communications with members including improving the quality of the Bulletin, regular information releases to members of Board decisions and other pertinent information for dissemination to the Rotary Club of Brisbane membership.
     
  • Member's Support Network: We will: Develop a members’ support network which provides a range of services for members in need, eg job loss, business failure, interpersonal problems where other members have the qualifications, expertise and willingness to help colleagues in need.
     
  • Vocational and International Service: We will: Develop and implement Vocational and International Service programs that are consistent with the opportunities for service described in the Presidential Citation.

FINANCE

Principal Responsibilities:

Provide a financial structure that ensures the best utilisation of Club finances, effective cash flow management, evaluation of new ventures/projects; fund-raising procedures and the availability of funds for operational and strategic activities/projects when required.

  • Rotary Club of Brisbane Benevolent Foundation: We will: Maintain the Rotary Club of Brisbane Benevolent Foundation.
     

  • Major Projects’ Selection Criteria: We will: Review criteria for the selection and financial management of major projects and implement agreed fundraising projects.
     

  • RCOB Financial Management: We will: Ensure the effective financial management of Rotary Club of Brisbane Inc. including the introduction of systems and procedures for the payment of dues and other accounts and to meet the legislative requirements of the GST.
